Government hospital on the brink of collapse
Government hospital on the brink of collapse
Most of the government hospitals across the country lack medical facilities. In 60% of the rural areas of the country, there are no government hospitals or dispensaries for the treatment of the people. Before coming to power, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan had said that if he came to power, he would ensure the promotion of education and the provision of free modern medical facilities to the poor. I voted that he (Imran Khan) will change his destiny when he comes to power. The government stopped the implementation of the MTI Act in these provinces when the representative organizations of the health department went on strike in the hospitals in response to the announcement.
When the PTI government came to power in KP in 2013, paperwork was done on the MTI Ordinance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and in 2015 the project was implemented as a pilot project in several hospitals in the province. With the launch of MTI in PK, health department organizations are still protesting. The government has not been able to achieve the results it wanted to achieve with the implementation of this act. The MTI Act has been implemented in the National Institute of Rehabilitation, Polyclinic, Pakistan, against which doctors and health officials in Islamabad have been protesting for six weeks.
In a few months, a plan has been drawn up to implement it in phases in teaching level hospitals across the country, thus making these government hospitals autonomous institutions, which will generate the expenses incurred in the hospitals themselves, according to the MTI Act. A five-member Board of Governors will be appointed to run the affairs of each hospital under its auspices. Under the ordinance, patients coming to government hospitals will have access to emergency sex and OPD in the first shift free of cost till 2 pm, doctors will check patients in the evening shift for a fee, while all test hospitals will also have to pay a fee which will be many times higher than the current rate.
No doctor of a government hospital will be able to practice privately, but a doctor will be allowed to practice in the second shift in a government hospital. The doctor will contribute to the independent hospital from the income generated in the government hospital. After the employees working in the hospital will be under the Board of Governors, these employees will not be given a service structure, due to which the employees of these hospitals will be deprived of pension and other benefits, but we will pay the salaries of these employees to other hospitals. Will be more than employees.
Doctors and hospital staff are concerned over the news of the implementation of the MTI Act in three hospitals in Islamabad and early implementation in other teaching hospitals. As a result of which the treatment system in the hospitals of Islamabad has come to a standstill and the patients are sobbing, while the health department organizations in Punjab and other provinces are formulating a plan of action for the protest. The announcement is expected this week, as health department officials say the MTI Act will be a sword on the heads of government hospital employees. They will be deprived of privileges that will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Mr. Captain, the people are asking that when you came to power, you had announced to extend the treatment facilities from the city to the rural areas for free, but this is happening to the contrary, Captain, the GMTI Act. With the implementation of the government, hospitals will be private and the treatment facility will be out of reach of the poor people, so instead of privatizing hospitals, the lack of medical facilities in the hospital should be removed so that the public medical facilities. Come on, otherwise, the people will continue to sob like before and your promise will prove to be a "slogan" like the previous governments.
